Exclusive peak behind the scenes at IDEM

IDEM in Paris has a long history of printing. As L’ATLAS was printing his litographies there we got an exclusive peak behind the scenes.

IDEM was founded in 1880 by Emile Dufrenoy, as a space to install his lithographic presses. Fernand Mourlot (1895-1988) and his brothers renaissanced the art of lithography in Paris between the two World Wars. They worked with artists such as Matisse, Picasso, Miro, Dubuffet, Braque, Chagall, Cocteau and Calde. Fernand Mourlot’s son, Jacques Mourlot, continued his father’s work until November 1997, when the Mourlot Company changed its name, and it is now known as IDEM.

IDEM is located in Montparnasse in Paris in 15000 square feet. They print for museums, international exhibitions and public and private collections.
